DAY 1: WELCOME TO RWANDA!

You will be picked up and welcomed from the Kanombe Airport by a representative of your hotel or our tourist driver Guide. He or she will transfer you to to Kigali the cleanest city in the whole of East Africa and Africa at large and later drive to your lodge or hotel. You will meet your safari driver/ guide tomorrow morning when he picks you up from your hotel. Depending on the time of your arrival, you may be able to explore the sites in and around Kigali. Activities today are at your own costs. You will stay in a nice lodge with beautiful views of the city.

DAY 2: DRIVE TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK AND TRACK GORILLAS

Begin the amazing day with a cup of coffee or tea, ready with your packed lunch and set off for this breathtaking and memorable experience yet today in Rwanda same activity but with totally different and fascinating experience. Gorilla trekking safaris are some of the most adventurous safaris you could ever take without getting tired. Close to 480 of the world’s mountain gorilla population is found in the Virunga, the rest are found in Bwindi impenetrable forest. There are 10 Gorilla groups in the Volcanoes National Park. These habituated gorilla families that have been trained to tolerate human presence making organized gorilla trekking possible and safe. And because it is safe you get to have the amazing experience of looking into a silver back’s eyes, or watching this magnificent creatures go about their day, taking care of their young, feeding, and simply being without worrying about being attacked or the gorillas hiding away from you. This is accompanied with very many other wildlife ranging from birds to mammals. The entire experience is simply amazing and definitely an adventure you can never forget. After this unforgettable experience you will walk back and drive to the lodge where you will relax, have diner and spend an overnight.

DAY 3: TRANSFER TO UGANDA BWINDI FOR THE SECOND EXPERIENCE OF GORILLA TRACKING

Start this amazing day with a delicious early morning Breakfast as you prepare to start your journey to the stunning Bwindi Impenetrable National park, you will pass through the amazing Kigali City where you will have a stopover for shopping meeting these beautiful and smiling natives, stretch and relax then drive to Rushaga Gorilla Camp in the south-western part of Uganda; close to the borders with Rwanda and Congo. You cross a beautiful part of the country often referred to as ‘the Switzerland of Africa’. For lunch you stop at a local restaurant. Your lodge is deep in the forest with view of the mist falling on the forested mountains. This will undoubtedly be one of the most spectacular views you have ever seen! From here you will depart tomorrow for the gorilla tracking so it is best to get a good night’s sleep.

DAY 4: GORILLA TRACKING AND BATWA EXPERIENCE

Today is the big day prepares yourself for an encounter with one of Bwindi’s gentle giants: the rare mountain gorilla. For most people this is the absolute highlight of their tour in Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest boasts both mountain gorillas and chimpanzees – the only forest in Africa which can make this claim, in fact. It also hosts five other species of primate, 113 species of mammal, over 200 butterflies and 360 birds. En route to the gorillas, your guide will point out signs of previous gorilla activity, including dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots. The gorillas you track belong to one of nine habituated family groups who can tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period every day. The time taken to track the gorillas can be as few as 2 hours to as many as 7 hours. Your track will be an exciting journey along forested slopes, intertwined vines, bushes and bamboo before you eventually reach the gorilla family. Once the gorillas have been located, your group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. Coming face-to-face with a mountain gorilla is a truly humbling and emotional experience. This is a fantastic and privileged opportunity to get up close and personal with Uganda’s very own ‘Gorillas in the Mist‘. In the evening you might opt for the cultural encounter, for generations, Mgahinga dense forests were homes to the indigenous Batwa-hunters-gatherers and fierce warriors who depended on the forest for shelter, food and medicine. Now lead visitors through the forests and introduce them to their old homes and the techniques they used to survive on while in the forest. You later drive back to the lodge for dinner and spend

DAY 5: DRIVE TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK THROUGH ISHASHA SECTOR

Start this day with an early morning breakfast and set off for Ishasha which is about 105Kms from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park along the way you will meet a lot of amazing wildlife such as the Baboons, Black and white Colobus monkeys, Red tailed monkeys, Vavet Monkeys and much more bird species. When you reach Ishasha you will relax, have lunch and set off for a game drive in the Ishasha plains, this is more than rewarding with a lot to see starting from the big mammals to the small ones like the mongooses, reptiles like the Nile monitor Lizard and the Agama Lizards and more eye catching bird species. Nature is unpredictable that means I cannot guarantee the sighting of the Predators but we trust our guides to do the required needful. After this memorable experience you will drive to the lodge have dinner and retire for the next day.

DAY 6: GAME DRIVE AND BOAT CRUISE

Start this day with an early morning breakfast and head to the second largest National Park in Uganda. It is a medley of wonders because of its fabulous wildlife and many eye catching attractions. This beautiful park is crossed by the Equator where you will have a stopover and pose for the photos as you watch the beauty of the jagged Rwenzori ranges, you will be already in the Park for the classic African safari in the Kasenyi tracks, the North Kazinga which offers virtually guaranteed Buffalo, Antelopes and Elephant sightings, along with warthogs. This is a rewarding game in the Kasenyi plains, this is the northern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park rich with wildlife, the game drive takes about 4-6 hours according to the season and the movement of these animals, this is a magnificent game which includes a lot to see such as Herds of Elephants, Hippos, Buffalos, Antelopes like Uganda Kobs, Daffasa Waterbuck and much more wildlife and on lucky days see a pride of lions and the solitary Leopard. This Park is known to have the longest bird list in all East African protected National Parks, thus giving you a chance to see a lot of beautiful Savanna species. You will later relax and stretch as you are enjoying your bush Breakfast. After this fascinating experience you proceed to Mweya Peninsular, this is the tourism Hub of Queen Elizabeth National Park with most of the attractions the visitors wouldn’t miss out. Mweya Peninsular is an area encircled by two water bodies that is Kazinga channel and the waters of Lake Edward leaving one way which is the entrance and the same time Exit. This is where the majestic boat cruise on Kazinga Channel is done. You will have a hot lunch before you setoff for this wonderful activity which is non-other than a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. This is an oasis for many of the fascinating species that inhabit the park, and taking a boat trip along Kazinga Channel gives the visitors a chance to cruise just a few meters from hundreds of enormous hippos since Kazinga channel is well known for its big number of Hippos of over 4800, Crocodiles sun basking and Buffaloes while Elephants linger along the shoreline.. This will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your tour. This takes about 2 hours from the starting point to coming back. After this marvelous and unforgettable experience you will opt for an evening game drive either to the salt lake of Katwe or to the craters. This park has over 52 craters where by others are filled up by water and others and empty grabens filled with vegetation, this is where you will have the great and clear views of the jagged Rwenzori Mountains, you later drive back to the lodge where you will have dinner and spend a night.

DAY 7: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING AND LATER DRIVE TO LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

Begin this wonderful day with a warm breakfast and set-off for the amazing Chimpanzee tracking in kyambura gorge. The Kyambura Gorge experience is more than discovering Chimps in their environment. It teaches the visitors about the ecosystems of Kyambura Gorge’s atmospheric underground rain-forest including vegetation type, Bird identification, chimps and monkeys ecology. Some of Monkey species include the Black and white colobus monkeys, Red tailed monkey and much more. The fact that it’s a dense forest and lies within the rift valley this inhabits lots of beautiful forest birds such as Narina Tragon and butterflies. After this exclusive experience you drive to yet another destination which is none other than Lake Mburo National Park. This is a gem of a park which is conveniently located close to the western highway that connects Kampala to the parks of western Uganda. It is a very special place with a medley of habitats ranging from wooded and open savanna, lakes, swamps to forests. This park is remarkably different from other parks. It is the best park to view the gigantic Elands, Impalas, Zebras and Acacia associated birds. The five lakes within] the park attract hippos and crocodiles while fringing swamps hide secretive papyrus specialists such as Sitatunga Antelope, Papyrus Gonlek and the rare shoebill and African Finfoot. You reach in this fascinating park late in the afternoon, relax then later join the evening boat cruise. This is an amazing activities; when you are done with the activity you will come back to lodge and spend an overnight.

DAY 8: WALKING SAFARI, THEN BACK TO KAMPALA AND ENTEBBE FOR THE FLIGHT

Start this day with a warm breakfast and set off for the walking safari which is conducted on foot with the help with the armed ranger guide who will help to interpret to you the various flora and fauna of this park, about the locals in this area, these guided walks also help you to explore the park around Rwonyo which is a visit to a natural salt lick frequented by the wildlife. Viewing is facilitated by a timber observation Plat form. After this unique experience you drive back to Kampala or Entebbe (Airport) stopping at the equator for the requisite snapshot and a bit of souvenir shopping. Accommodation for tonight is not inclusive in the program. If you wish to depart tonight from Entebbe Airport, make sure your flight is at 10 pm or later.
