6 Days Gorilla And Golden Monkeys Uganda, Rwanda

DAY 1: WELCOME TO UGANDA!

You will be picked up and welcomed from the airport by a representative of your hotel. He will transfer you to your hotel. You will meet your driver/ guide tomorrow morning when he picks you up from your hotel. Depending on the time of your arrival, you may be able to explore the sites in and around Kampala. Activities today are at your own costs. You will stay in a nice lodge with beautiful views on Lake Victoria.

DAY 2: DRIVE TO BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK WITH AN EQUATOR STOP LUNCH ENROUTE ON A FULL BOARD BASIS.

Start this amazing day with a delicious early morning Breakfast as you prepare to start your journey to the stunning Bwindi Impenetrable National park, you will have a stopover at the Equator and watch the water demonstration as you proceed will be able to meet a lot of amazing feature such as the fascinating savannah woodland of L.Mburo national park if luck enough see the Zebras grazing, meet the happy and smiling people. You will later have a lunch stop over, stretch and relax then drive to Buhoma community Lodge in the south-western part of Uganda. You cross a beautiful part of the country often referred to as ‘the Switzerland of Africa’.Your lodge is deep in the forest with view of the mist falling on the forested mountains. This will undoubtly be one of the most spectacular views you have ever seen! From here you will depart tomorrow for the gorilla tracking so it is best to get a good night’s sleep.

DAY 3: GORILLA TRACKING AND BATWA EXPERIENCE

Today is the big day prepares yourself for an encounter with one of Bwindi’s gentle giants: the rare mountain gorilla. For most people this is the absolute highlight of their tour in Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest boasts both mountain gorillas and chimpanzees – the only forest in Africa which can make this claim, in fact. It also hosts five other species of primate, species of mammal, over butterflies and birds. En route to the gorillas, your guide will point out signs of previous gorilla activity, including dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots. The gorillas you track belong to one of nine habituated family groups who can tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period every day. The time taken to track the gorillas can be as few as 2 hours to as many as 7 hours. Your track will be an exciting journey along forested slopes, intertwined vines, bushes and bamboo before you eventually reach the gorilla family. Once the gorillas have been located, your group will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. Coming face-to-face with a mountain gorilla is a truly humbling and emotional experience. This is a fantastic and privileged opportunity to get up close and personal with Uganda’s very own ‘ Gorillas in the Mist ‘. In the evening you might opt for the cultural encounter, for generations, Mgahinga dense forests were homes to the indigenous Batwa-hunters-gatherers and fierce warriors who depended on the forest for shelter, food and medicine. Now lead visitors through the forests and introduce them to their old homes and the techniques they used to survive on while in the forest. You later check in the lodge for dinner and spend.

DAY 4: TRANSFER TO RWANDA VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK

Start this day with a delicious and a warm breakfast then later prepare to set off for yet another amazing destination which is none other than Rwanda-Kigali one of the cleanest town in East Africa and Africa at Large. Your travel will be destined to Volcanoes National Park, this beautiful park sits on the north-western province of Rwanda in a small town known as Musanze .This park is apparently the oldest national park in the entire African continent. When you reach the Park you will be warmly welcomed check-in have dinner and spend an overnight.

DAY 5: GOLDEN MONKEY TREKKING

Begin the amazing day with a cup of coffee or tea, ready with your packed lunch and set off for this breathtaking and memorable experience yet today in Rwanda same activity but with totally different experience. Golden Monkeys are rare species and also listed on the endangered. You will be enjoy seeing these beautiful creatures jumping from Tree to tree, its almost the same experience as Gorilla Trekking. Golden Monkeys are worth your time in Volcanoes National park. After this unforgettable experience you will walk back and drive to the lodge where you will relax, have diner and spend an overnight.

DAY 6: TRANSFER TO KIGALI FOR GENOCIDE MEMORIAL VISIT AND TRANSFER TO THE AIRPORT FOR YOUR FLIGHT

Start this wonderful day with a delicious breakfast, then later check-out and drive to Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda where you will have a chance to visit the Genocide Memorial site. This took place between two ethnic groups populating Rwanda: the Hutus and the Tutsis and this was between April and June 1994 (~100 days), an estimated 800,000 Rwandans were killed. Soldiers and police officers encouraged ordinary citizens to take part in the killings. Hutu civilians, forced by military personnel, were to murder their neighbors, friends, and even relatives. Participants were given incentives, in the form of money, food, or land, to kill Tutsis; they could appropriate the land of the Tutsis they killed. But this now left history behind and the Genocide is now a tourist attraction. After this experience you will have your Lunch, do some shopping if you want as souvenirs and later leave for the Airport to catch up with your Flight Schedule.
